Thanks Rdsok for still checking the forum and answering questions, even though I've mostly left this project behind.

I have replied to jojobear99 in an email.

I basically recommended that she fork the project since I don't even own Delphi anymore to compile or test PopTray.

PS : Has anyone news from Renier ? Is Poptray still maintained ? I'm still alive, but PopTray isn't updated anymore. I still use it everyday and it serves it's purpose for me as-is, so I haven't found the need to update it. Interesting to see PopTray Minus . First time I've heard of it. Pretty cool!

Rdsok, thank you very much for your support on this forum. I am amazed that users like you and vitoco are still hanging around here for the last 4 to 5 years, willing to help people. Tahtu, I am not going to publish your work, that is my decision. I can see you don't like that decision, but it is st...

OK, I'll answer here. I've been considering Tahtu's suggestion for a while now. I know I haven't been able to work on PopTray for a long time now. The problem with Tahtu's version though is that it uses a commercial library (which basically means it isn't licensable under GPL anymore, and people won...

Forum hosting moved to US server

I've moved the forum website to a server hosted in the US. This should be faster than the previous South African host.

Wow, my first read of the forum for 2008 and there's a semi argument going on (after it being so quiet these days). Personally I'm also more in favor Windows programs staying with you default Windows settings. Gerasidi's black designs look very nice though, but I doubt it's the direction PopTray wil...

This sounds like a difference in the Indy versions.

Just as a test you can comment out the DeleteTempFiles line in the source. It would mean that any temporary attachment files won't get deleted though.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to spend any more time in further developing PopTray. I wouldn't say the project is closed, but I don't see any changes happening in the near future. My last goal was making PopTray compile with a free version of Delphi so more developers can maybe help in future. I...

I don't see IndySSL in your directory. The files libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll are needed for SSL to work. The plugin installer should install this if you check "Indy SSL".

If the date is in the correct format (according to the RFC), then PopTray will convert it to you Windows date format. If it's in the wrong format, it will just display what is in the email without changing it.

Sounds like their mail server doesn't recognize some POP3 command. Do you have QuickChecking on? You can try switching that off. Otherwise I don't know.

Renier, could you tell me what setup have in your poptray to get spambayes works, please? Do you retrieve email body? First n-lines? etc. Nothing funny really. It just works. Sorry, but I also don't use Gmail a lot, so I can't talk with any experience.

It does sound like Gmail isn't very POP3 compliant. I don't know if there is much that a client (like PopTray) can do about that.

Another alternative to K9, that also works on you training the program, is SpamBayes. I've been using it successfully with PopTray for years now.
