Log Rule

Post by adam20540 » Thu Nov 01, 2007 1:45 pm

Hi,

In the help menu, I read the explanation for the ''Log Rule'' box. Sorry, but I still don't understand :( Once I have a rule ready, what's the difference between checking (or unchecking) the 'Log Rule' box.

Thanks.

If the box is checked for LOG RULE...

PopTray will create a file and each time the RULE is used, it will make an entry in the RULES.LOG file.

And the purpose of this file, for example, is for me to know how many times this rule has been used?

Yes, that is one reason, you can also find the EMAIL ADDRESS of the sender, the SUBJECT and other info.

Thanks for the explanation, KY.

PopTray is such a lovely and VERY useful program .. why is it free? I have seen far less useful email programs that are not free. Surely even a small amount would contribute to the upkeep of this forum and perhaps further development of this wonderful program.

So what I'm trying to say is that I don't expect any donations.
The quote is from Renier, who is the developer of PopTray.
