Setup of poptray to activate when files are added to folder?

Post by E. Behrens » Fri Nov 23, 2007 7:48 pm

Hi

I would like to know if it is possible to set "poptray" up to activate if a document or file is added to a specified folder on an network.

In the company we have routed all incomming faxes to a dedicated computer. The secretary will distribute incomming faxes to the responsible persons folder on the network.

We would like "poptray" to notify the responsible person that an document or file has been added to his folder.

Can anyone help?

Regards

The only way PopTray could notify for that is to install some kind of daemon program that "translates" the content from a given folder to a mailbox format and "publishes" that as a POP3 server.

I don't know if such a tool already exists... If it does, it must be a general one, that requires some customizations to manipulate file contents :?
