Apparant fault

Post by 152jim » Mon Oct 06, 2008 3:07 pm

Hello
My poptray has suddenly stopped and I get a message stating that there is a connect error and the Max line length exceeded.
Any ideas please

Thank you :(

Could you actually provide details of what was happening at the time of the error?

Hello Rdsok

I start by opening poptray and I get the message 'Error: Already Connected'
in the bottom left of the window. I have received a small window with 'Socket error # 10054 Connection reset by peer' in it. Then at the bottom left I get 'Connect error: Max line length exceeded'
All this happens when I open up poptray to see if any mail has arrived.
I have removed the programme and reinstalled but the problem remains.
I would appreciate your help if possible
Thank you
Jim

Start with a system restart to ensure no other email clients are already open and connected to your email server.... then try Poptray again.

If you get the max line length error again... Remove all spam from your email servers inbox either with a webmail connection if your ISP provides one or by using your email client to download and remove all emails in the inbox.

Spammers will often send malformed emails in order to thwart a spam software.
