Skype to go

Post by homaquebec » Tue Aug 31, 2010 11:40 am

I live in Canada.

I have a local number Skype to go.

Normally, by calling this number (from my cell phone, from my land line phone or for any phone numbre, using a secret code in this last case), I can make a call anywhere in the world (except in a very few countries) at Skype rates. The cost of of the call is paid with my Skype credits or with my subscription.

I have no idea how to proceed except what it is written on the Skype site. When I call the Skype to go number, information is fastly given in english. I do not understand.

Could someone tell me exactly how to make a call using Skype to go when one has a Skype to go number, a secret code and two phone numbers, from which he can make those calls, registered in his Skype account.

Thank you.

I don't use Skype but perhaps one of the following will help you find the info you want...

General website http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/feature ... go-number/ ( this is the US English page btw )

Guides, FAQ's etc https://support.skype.com/

Skype forum http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showforum=225

Good luck, hopefully one of those will help

I succeeded

Thanks for the links.

I have read all this information I think.

Here what I found:

"To call another number when you call your Skype To Go number, you will need to follow the instructions in the main call menu, then dial the number you want followed by the hash key (#). To dial the number you will need to start with 00, for instance, if you want to call a United Stated [or Canada] number (international code +1) dial 001 and then the rest of the number."

Using Skype to go, I made a local call (to my cell phone) to see if it works. Id did. Then I really made a long distance call. I succeeded. No charges in my account since I have an annual subscription (30 $ CAN a year for unlimited calls in USA and in Canada).

Tonight - when the local calls cost 1 cent a minute -, I will try with my cell phone.

Thanks again.
