PopTray & Courier IMAP problems

Post by AIVAS » Tue Dec 13, 2005 4:34 am

Didn't get a response in the General Forum so I'll try here

Ok. My mail provider just changed my IMAP server from UW to Courier.

It used to work fine under UW (which is odd because hardly anything else would). Now I can't even connect. Well that's not exactly true. It says that it can't connect but once I clear the error message ("Can't connect") it presents me with the Connection Info dialog that indicates that it connected fine:
[CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION STARTTLS] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2005 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.

Quick Checking and Safe Delete (UIDL): NOT Supported
The major change I see from my end is that my sub-folders are no longer off the root of my account but are now sub-folders of the INBOX.

The applications that previously complained about UW are now happy with Courier. Poptray is the only one that now exhibits a problem. Wierd.

I've tried turning off Quick Checking and even enabling SSL to no avail.

ANY help is appreciated.

I don't think the location of your posting was the reason that you received no responses. It was probaby due more to the fact that not many PopTray users having IMAP accounts and thus don't know what your problem is, so they don't answer.

Otherwise...

Otherwise it would be named IMAPTray !

I just thought Renier might have chimed in but I guess not.

I'll give it another few days then I have no choice but to try some other package. Bummer, I really liked PopTray - when it worked.

Figures. Just when you find the ideal solution someone comes along and invents a better problem!

Waiting on Renier is an idea, you might also PM user mjeveritt as he is a contributor of one of the IMAP Plugins.

I can't really say anything on the IMAP plugins. I just wrote a simple one as an example of how to do a protocol plugin. The further workings of IMAP I'm not involved in.
