gmail sent items showing up as new mail in PopTray

Post by nCubed » Sat Jan 20, 2007 4:17 am

Recently started using PopTray and quickly found out what a great little app ya'll have written and supported!

I've configured PopTray to pop my gmail account using the SSL plugin. Everything works like a charm with 1 exception: Whenever I reply to an email with gmail, the reply shows up as unread mail in my PopTray notifier the next time PopTray pops my gmail.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any work-arounds I could try?

Thanks!

One way is to Login to your GMAIL Account and go to SETTINGS, FILTERS, CREATE A FILTER.

Then create a filter to move your replies or messages from you,
directly to the ARCHIVE Folder.

Thanks Dave. I think this may be a limitation I'll just need to live with :) Moving conversations into the archives is a work-around, however, I need the replies to stay in the in box.

Things would work better if you move your email to the archive folder. It would speed up the checking of your accounts. You can still search it or whatever function you need.

But if you must leave it in there, you could create a RULE in PopTray to IGNORE (don't notify) the replies from your address.

I only leave the current emails I'm working with in the gmail in box; all others are sent to archives. The rule idea sounds like a good idea. Thanks!
