ssl and google mail

I have set up as instructed in the sticky. Sometimes it gave an error and nothing is downloaded.Image

other times, the headers are downloaded but i get this error when trying to preview the message.

One more thing, is it possible to use ssl + poptray + k9?

There is a sticky post on how to setup Poptray along with K9...


The error is similar to a lot of errors I've seen caused by spam that is purposely not using a standard email format in order to screw up antispam software. In these cases you can manually delete the spam and the problem will vanish.

thanks for reply. I have been using poptray + k9 for years but with the addition of ssl, this setup is up in the air.

If you also use AVG, then this setup is for you.

With a couple of changes to your login in PopTray and enabling the servers in AVG it works like a charm.

Be sure to use the "recent:" command in front of your gmail username as shown in the HOW TO...
