I've never heard of that error before and you provided absolutely no info to even try to guess a direction from... What type of email server are you connecting to, what version of Windows are you running on, what spam filter software do you use, what antivirus software do you use, have you tried disabling your spam or antivirus software to see if that changes anything... what interval are you trying to autocheck your mail?
Also, please turn off your CAP's lock... on forums, typing in all caps is considered rude and is called YELLING. _________________ Help Info

I also have had the error message "invalid backend" poping up
I am running Intel Core 2 Quad, 2.50 Ghz, 349 Gb ram, Windows XP professional Service 2002 pack 3 my email provider is also Virgin I must admit this problem has only just happened in the last week or so therefore it may well be a Virgin problem, by the way it is intemittant but I am unable to find any info on the subject |

My comment won't really help except for my suggestion perhaps... but after searching just using "invalid backend" ... I tend to agree that the problem does appear to be with Virgin... There are a ton of recent reports after they "improved" the service.
I initially searched on "CONNECT ERROR INVALID BACKEND" and that gave no results... I suspect the wording perhaps wasn't exact but that is just a guess.
From what I read on Virgin's forum... I would recommend that you report the issue to them so they can address the issue if your problems are an issue with your individual accounts... If you don't, it may not be addressed properly. If you have multiple accounts with them and they each have the issue, report them all seperately ( for the same reason ). _________________ Help Info
