Well now today it is only opening OE, where as yesterday if there was mail in the Tb account it would open that client. p.s. If I run test for the Tb account it opens it. But with a message (yellow/Tb client) alert sitting in the taskbar it opened OE. p.s. #2 It just worked from the tray. Go figure!

An account is where your email client gets the email for your email address. Outlook Express and Thunderbird are email clients... they are not accounts, they access accounts. You can either configure Poptray to open a particular email client for a particular account ... or you can setup Poptray to ...

So I've (semi) successfully added another POP3 account, but!

My original account is OE. I've added a Thunderbird account. Notifying works great, however, not that it is a huge deal, but unless I'm doing something wrong, PT can only open one email program, i.e. either/or but not both. Is this correct? Thank you!

Well, this was sooooooo easy! Installing "over" existing program didn't correct the problem, so I did an uninstallation. During the uninstall you are asked if you want to save your configuration files (or something like that, it was late last night!). After installation everything is normal again an...

Well... really its hard to say when you don't provide any information to base a guess on.... What version of Windows? What antivirus or other protection software do you have running? XP Home, SP3. Not a security app problem. Has performed flawlessly for years. I can enter the .exe file in Startup P...

PT not starting at boot! What is the best way to get it

back? It is not in the list of my startup programs anymore. I'd had it delaying a few minutes using WinPatrol (realize I could have just set that in PT settings) but have since uninstalled WP so that is how it became corrupted I'm sure even though I removed all of the delayed programs before uninsta...

That is no way to verify that the email was actually removed. Either use another email client with it set to delete them on retrieval ( which is the default setting for most... ) or better yet access it from the webmail interface if your provider has that available. I suspect that the email is actu...

Delete from Inbox>Delete from Deleted Items Folder. This is what I've always done.

Suddenly, after I run PT the email heading is staying in PT.

Then, when I boot it alerts and still shows the mail even though it has even been deleted from even the server. This has just started to occur. Only thing new Is IE8 (errrr!) which I really don't even use! Anyway, any suggestions? Thank You!

K9 question!

I've checked K9's forum for mention of my issue to no avail. It is also not very active so I'm posting my question here. Please bear with me, it may get lengthy! K9 and PopTray are a great team and were working as described by you. I began receiving one to two spambot type mails per day and became t...

K9 and spam containing malware question!

Since K9 stores the spam for x number of days (I set it for two, per your setup), if there is malware embedded in the spam, can it infect your PC? Can anti-malware programs stop it before it's moved to K9? Is this a concern? I'm asking the same question on their forum but it doesn't seem to get a lo...

Dave, thank you for all your help, PopTray is now notifying again. I've become so accustomed to it that if I had to choose between K9 and PT as my notifier I'd have chosen PT. It's kind of a testimonial to just how good PopTray is that my requests for help were x% of all of the requests during the p...

Sorry to bother you KY Dave but I have an anti-spam question

Thanks to my PopTray black list and using mostly web mails nowadays, I haven't been driven to installing an anti-spam program quite yet. However, having said that, I'm still always in the hunt, although I realize from your endorsement that K9 would be all that I would need. Anyway, to the point: cou...

Apparently PopTray has become bugged!

I've been using PT since at least 1/06, since that is when I joined the forum. It has performed flawlessly all these months (years). Although I'm connected to the internet via cable, since I returned home from work today I am continuously (enabled to check for mail every five minutes) receiving "Con...
