The ''http:'' rule has worked, Dave. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to all the posts.

The rule didn't work. Just checking again with you to see if there should be anything else, apart from ''a href'' (without the quotation marks). I have 2 email accounts: I use one of them (Outlook Express) for friends and family overseas etc .., this is also the one that PopTray checks. The other (G...

Hi Rdsok. If I was to go ahead and use the A HREF , to mark all mail that contain a link to a website, as spam. As you said, I would first need to enable Retrieve Body, in the options. Then create a rule in the body. I am not sure of the next step .. which option should I use in the ''Compare'' colu...

Spam email that contains a link

Is there any way to designate all incoming emails containing links, as spam? All the spam emails I receive contain links. Obviously, there's no rule in PopTray for this, but I am just wondering ..

Appreciate the reply,Dave. No, I don't use a RULE in OE .. so it must be through F-Secure .. as you say, ''it would be much harder''. I tried to find something in the Subject line, or body, or the 'from to' and all the 'usual suspects' etc.. that would identify them as junk mail, to no avail. I'll t...

A tricky question about Junk Mail and Pop Tray

My Outlook Express has a Junk E-mail folder. When receiving junk emails, the Pop Tray notification Balloon is activated. On clicking the Pop Tray icon (to open my inbox and read the email), I see that the email has been directed to my Junk E-mail folder (all email that ends up in my Junk E-mail fold...

Thanks for the explanation, KY.

PopTray is such a lovely and VERY useful program .. why is it free? I have seen far less useful email programs that are not free. Surely even a small amount would contribute to the upkeep of this forum and perhaps further development of this wonderful program.

And the purpose of this file, for example, is for me to know how many times this rule has been used?

Log Rule

Hi,

In the help menu, I read the explanation for the ''Log Rule'' box. Sorry, but I still don't understand :( Once I have a rule ready, what's the difference between checking (or unchecking) the 'Log Rule' box.

Thanks.

Rules area ..where is the 'Body' option?

I just reinstalled xp and made a fresh poptray download. Something is missing. In the User Interface rules, ''The area within your e-mail messages that you want to test for the text or criteria you have defined.'' The 'body' criteria seems to be missing from my latest download. The last criteria is ...

As always, KY Dave, your very fast replies and help is very much appreciated. It seems I have deleted my post, just as you were replying!! I thought maybe I was making too much of a fuss and should just be happy having this great product work with my default email client. Now that I've received your...

Thanks for the quick response, Dave. It's working fine now :D Problem was I had ticked the 'Show Window On Notification', in the general option.
Obviously, you cant have this option running at the same time as the keyboard light .. which is ok. Many thanks.

Keyboard light

Hi, I downloaded the TrayPlugins_beta6 and ticked the box in the options/plug-in, for the Keyboard lights. It doesn't seem to be working :( shouldn't the keyboard light flash when a new email arrives :?: Love the program :D
