the autocheck menu option fix is now coded up and will be included in the next release (which will be 5.2.5).

The issue with reordering accounts was fixed in 5.2.4, which is already available, please update.

I think you are right that it doesn't "seem right" to have the right click menu showing "auto-check enabled" when it's clearly not enabled because you set the automatic mail check frequency to never. That checkbox should probably be unchecked and not clickable (disabled) when auto-check is disabled ...

SSL checkbox is disabled if libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll cannot be found in the poptrayu directory (or system path) or cannot be loaded (eg: if they are corrupt files). You can look with explorer to verify those files are present in the PopTrayU directory. If they are there, you can right click the...

Hmm, great suggestion. Offhand, I don't think that would be too difficult to implement, so I will have a look and see if I can make an optional toolbar button for Select All

Marc, as Rdsok said, you will need to check the "Use SSL/TLS" checkbox to make a successful connection on port 995. If that checkbox is disabled, the SSL plugin is not installed correctly. I suspect it is trying to make an insecure connection on the secure connection port, and the server is rejectin...

Sorry, no immediate plans to start working on a Live Tile interface. I definitely see the appeal and think it would be awesome, but I would need to upgrade my PC to windows 8 to do so.

Mark as spam

I was hoping one of you PopTray old-timers could chime in. Is there any reason to use the "mark as spam" button manually (vs having messages marked as spam via rules) other than in preparation for using the "delete spam" button?

any version of poptray or poptrayu should work just as well on 64-bit as on 32-bit. There are no known x64 issues excepting in regards to MAPI/mailto features when combined with emails outside the ANSI code-page.

Bateman, I forgot to mention, please let me know as well if you are using a regional setting other than US english on your copy of windows (such as German). I have seen bugs before that only popped up with Italian regional settings for example.

Bateman, would you be able to email me a copy of such a newsletter, including the raw headers (of course, feel free to replace any sensitive parts of the headers or body such as email addresses with dummy data like xxxxxxxxxx)? You may have found a genuine bug which possibly could be fixed if I can ...

luckyluke2301, you might be able to reduce your number of whitelist/blacklist entries significantly by using wildcards. Rules may use wildcards and/or regular expressions. I haven't done any benchmarks on it, but I have a feeling that quantity of rules and whitelist entries could slow the app down q...

luckyluke2301, if you must use PopTray 3.2 on win 7 or 8, I would recommend installing it to a folder outside program files. Then you will not require running as administrator, or have issues writing to the program folder when it goes to save the INI file with the settings. Good places to install mi...

Gracie,
In PopTrayU, if you are on the plain text tab, it will reply to the selected text. If you are on the HTML tab, it copies the entire message. Sorry the HTML tab doesn't have that feature implemented yet.

chabant, It turns out you don't need the full action band patch, just the action band popup component, which is good news, because the popup component is just a zip of source code and works with any delphi 7 version and doesn't mess with patching exe's. After several times of messing with both, I de...

Rdsok is mostly correct here, preview messages are usually stored in RAM, not on the hard-disk, so just for pressing preview does not generate temp files. The exception would be if you open attachments in the email, it has to persist them on the hard-disk temporarily. Attachments are saved whereever...

Romi, the latest version of PopTrayU (a forked version of PopTray with better windows 7+ support) no longer requires a seperate dll plugin for SSL (just openssl dlls to be installed, and the installer will give you a link to download). I don't use Avast, so I don't know for certain whether this will...
