:? So I found my old Win 7 64-bit PopTray folder, dbl clicked on the .exe and it came up, it accessed my accounts, and I was able to access my emails. :?

Not sure why I upgraded to PoptrayU at this point, but I don't think I will be going back to PT 3.2, even if it does apparently work.

What version of PTU are you trying LL? I'm running the version 5 beta 8 and it is definitely stable and fixes several problems and shortcomings found in earlier version including the creation of the problem log.

PopTray ran fine on my Win 7 32-bit machine but not on the Win 7 64-bit machine. UAC was not an issue.

You've upgraded the OS but not the app. Poptray wasn't designed for the newer versions of Windows, is no longer being updated, and hasn't been for years. Your best option is to convert to PopTrayU.

I can not possibly imagine a need for rules and whitelists that big. Several dozen rules and 50-100 addresses sure but nothing close to what you have. You are doing something wrong . Regardless, to avoid the delay IMO you have the following options: 1. Trim the lists. By 50% or more. The oldest entr...

As rdsok said Win 7 & 8 come without an email client installed. With Win 7 I did the download and install of Microsoft's Windows Live Mail client. It works well with both versions of PopTray for viewing emails. I don't use it for sending emails just viewing some of them.

When I ran the original PopTray on Windows 7 I ran it in Compatibility Mode. On one machine in Windows XP SP2 and another Windows Vista SP2.

BTW Two changes I made to my PopTrayU install folder;

I added a shortcut to the PopTrayU's appdata folder.
I made a backup copy of the PopTray.ini in it.
And will probably add a small script to backup the PopTray.ini there.

All minor to be sure.

It's a big unknown on UBCD4Win's forum... R1Soft took over the right's to UBCD4Win as well as the forum... :o Wow!! I wasn't aware of that. Because of all of the above... I had tried to even edit my sig on 911Cd and found out that I don't have permission to do that now and hadn't been even notified...

The code is definitely stable, I'm just hoping it is still supported.

Any idea what happened to the "other" forum you're active in? It's been offline for at least a month at this point. The rest of the site is still up.

Hi Randy, thanks for responding. Well, I was impatient and upgraded manually. I left PopTray installed and installed PopTrayU along side it. I then opened each app's window, clicked on their Accounts tabs and cut and pasted the info from the old app to the new app, then did the same for the Option t...

PopTray upgrade to PopTray U

Is there a way to upgrade from one to the other? Not an impossible task but would be nice if not necessary. PopTray has been working fine on Windows 7 32-bit right up until recently. Now the Tray icon disappears after awhile and I can't get it back. PopTray is still running and announcing new emails...
