Wow, you must be worried about this thread, did you have a WARNING BUZZER set to go off if someone posted in this thread? In less than 6 minutes of my posting, you had your comeback posted. Maybe it was a coincidence  You're pretty funny, Dave -- making fun of me for being online when I recei...

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/OptimizeXP/Buttons/FirefoxMyths.gif Just one section of an interesting web site. I think we all know where you stand re: Firefox. I'm very curious to see if, when the next version of Microsoft Internet Explorer comes out, you will feel as great a need to repeatedly pos...

I very much doubt whether that site has the copyright for all those images on its website. They are probably just as guilty. It seems to me, from reading his posts, that Renier isn't worried about the copyright issues, so users should concentrate on policing their own posts and material.... Thanks,...

Re: Playing a Presentation document with background sound
If you want to create a slide show with Presentation of OpenOffice with a sound playing in background, you could be interested by this post and the thread that contains in on Open Office forum. I read that exact same tip at the end of a OOo 2.0 review a few weeks ago. You must have read that same r...

There is no need for an alarm in boldface and capital letters. Anyone who reads the article can see that it already makes it very clear that the page to which it links is a proof of concept page that is provided only for those who want to see proof that the MSIE vulnerability exists. No tricks. No ...

If you read the article linked by Computer Bob, please be aware that the article links to a PROOF OF CONCEPT page that will try to install a VIRUS on your computer during the proving of the concept. There is no need for an alarm in boldface and capital letters. Anyone who reads the article can see ...

I hope more users will add their marker. Years ago, an online software pirate who resented an anti-piracy piece that I had written in a MS newsgroup, stole my identity and posted illegal and pornographic things all over the Internet in my name, using my email address, home address, home phone numbe...

It's the same arguement Mac users have used for decades about their systems being more secure, when in fact there are holes all thru it that haven't even had anyone looking for them. Same with Firefox. They didn't know about the vulnerabilities until they started offering 'reward money' for users f...

According to what I've read, no browser can ever be declared "secure," but Firefox has had far fewer security vulnerabilities than Internet Explorer; Firefox's vulnerabilities have been far less severe than IE's; and Mozilla has fixed FF's discovered vulnerabilities far faster than Microsoft has fix...

Just installed and I am overwhelmed. This is really good software. Best of all: it reads and writes MS Office files so there's no need to fear about compatibility issues. :D Just a small caveat: I've read that OOo does not read and write some of the older versions of MS Office files, so that could ...
