Request to remove post
Hi,
I'd like to have a post I made in 2003 removed or edited. I used my emailaddres in that post, which is not smart, but I did not know that at the time.
I can't edit the post anymore. Can a moderator remove this for me? Hope to hear from you.
Thanks!

Poptray does do something...
When I turn my computer in standby it looks like Poptray doesn't recognize that. Because when I turn on the computer again the program always indicates an error to retrieve mail. So while in standby Poptray just goes on apparently.
Seems like a Poptray thingy to me, not a windowsXP thing..

the best solution
Get a program like Pegasus Mail. You don't need Outlook.... really.

Renier, THE PopTray boy, has a TODO list. Since everything is involving, an email notifier must do so. A recent development seems to be a need to reroad messages such a way they can be read on a cell phone. Personnaly, I would appreciale a feature that would allow the user to copy specific messages...

I agree with the statement about the need to install additional software, but the reason I have K9 installed is not because I have a problem with Poptray. The rules for filtering spam in poptray can never be as good as K9 simply because Poptray doesn't learn like K9 does. Every rule has to be made m...

I have the Ignore retrieve errors box checked. I've changed some of the other settings now. Maybe it helps. We'll see when the next corrupted email arrives... :? I'm hesitating a bit wether I should install the beta version of Poptray... I don't want my rules messed up like I read on the forum here....

Re: Work around
KYdave wrote: You could have K9 add ~SPAM~ to the SUBJECT of your emails and then there would be no problem with an empty SUBJECT. That's the way I use it anyway, so Outlook Express will have a criteria to filter SPAM out in case it gets by while OE is loading. ===== But as I said, the problem is NO...

Garygo, it's not the empty subject that is the problem, but when the problem occurs it is always with emails that have no subject. You're so right when you say it makes poptray useless when this happens. Today I wasn't online for about 6 hours and got 65 spam emails in that period of time. They woul...

Work around
Well Computerbob, I've got that problem too of course, but what I do, I download only the headers with my email client and delete the messages that have no subject. They stand out, so it's pretty easy to find them, mark them and delete them. After that Poptray has no problem anymore. My problem is, ...

Connection closed gracefully..
I have posted about this problem before, but haven't found a solution yet. I get a lot of spam every day and on a daily basis Poptray hangs on messages that (99% of the times) have no subject or body. They seem to be corrupted emails, mostly from yahoo and msn accounts. Poptray can't ignore these me...

yahoo mail problem
The problem still exists. The yahoo spam mail that blocks my poptray never has a subject and there is no body. It happens every two or three days... If someone wants to check these mails that's ok, but where do I forward it to?

Same problem
I have the same problem a lot, but in my case it is because I get spam from different yahoo.com accounts that seems to prevent my email program (poptray, as well as Pegasus) from retrieving the email. Once I remove the yahoo.com email by downloading the headers only everything is ok and all email ca...

Thanks
Thanks KY Dave, the first option already did it for me. I will check out the advanced features when I feel totally confident with the program. I have lost too many emails by doing stupid things with my email program in the past so I'm more careful now, but K9 really seems a good tool. Thanks again f...

Curtz! Your remark in this forum made me check out K9. I never heard of this software and since Poptray only removes 50% of the spam I get (about 100 of these little bastards every day!) I checked it out. It seems promising. I installed it and it works fine when I check email with my email program, ...

What is a "re-authentication faillure"?
I have this error a lot these days. What is it? Can I lose mail because of it?

I don't get it... now it works! I tried it out with my own email address and now I do get the message. It does log the action, but the email is still there. I did lose several emails yesterday, so I don't understand what went wrong. Well, if it all stays this way that's cool. Poptray continues to be...

Help requested on colliding rules
For example: I have a rule that says; delete anything with the word SPAM in the subject line. I also have a rule that says; anything that is sent by an address with @ebay.com in the senders address should be protected from automatic deletion. Now email from ebay.com is marked protected, but when the...
