Just installed and I am overwhelmed. This is really good software.
Best of all: it reads and writes MS Office files so there's no need to fear about compatibility issues. :D

Buried out this older post; the error is still there. Example: when I do a check on a GMail account and there's a new message waiting, no matter if I click "Mark as viewed" or whatever: from that moment on I get notified for this message each and every checking interval. I have to close and reopen P...

Since that doesn't make any sense at all (at least not for me) I ran ROT-13 on it:

Code: Select all

Ah, now I see! Praise for PopTray. I knew it! :D

I don't have the Gmail plugin installed since Gmail supports normal POP3. I solely use the SSL Plugin so that could be the culprit.

Had that too, but now it's working again.

Nevertheless, shouldn't PopTray time out in a certain interval instead of freezing?

What's your favorite mail notification sound with PopTray?

I was unsure whether to post this to "anything" or here, but since it's somehow related to PopTray I guess it's ok at this place. So here we go: What sound is your favorite to hear when new mail arrives? Let's pile them up for more fun getting mail. 8) These are the ones I currently have enabled: ht...

Disabled accounts behave differently after manual check

Hm, never experienced that before but since I did I report it here; maybe someone could confirm the error: I have a couple of accounts, some enabled for automatic checking with the interval set and some disabled for only manual checking. When I check an account manually (by using the "Check" button ...

Thanks, works now. Interesting is, that when I have the settings like above (Protocol: POP3, Port 995) and choose "POP3 SSL" I get an Access Violation in the POP3SSL DLL. This can be avoided by first changing the POP3 port to 110 and saving the account settings. When the POP3 SLL protocol is choosed...

Accessing Gmail with PopTray

Could someone tell me how to access Gmail with PopTray? In my Gmail-settings, POP is enabled. How do I configure PopTray now? I have: Server: pop.gmail.com Protocol: POP3, Port 995 Login: <mygmailname>@gmail.com Password: <mypassword> Doesn't work. In fact, PopTray freezes. Does PopTray do SSL-conne...

Good news, Renier, looks like the toolbar bug is fixed now; at least I can't reproduce it anymore. Great job! :D One thing about the window behavior is strange nevertheless: the PopTray window (when not maximized) snaps to the screen borders; this is unlike every other windows application. Since it'...

Interesting news. I found a way to reproduce / workaround the problem. The blank toolbar line never shows up when you configure your columns so that the last column on the right doesn't fit in the window and a horizontal scrollbar appears on the bottom of the window. Please try the following ...

What version of Windows are you running? Windows XP with SP2 (yes, I dared :D ) Are you running any 'style' programs that affect the way Windows looks like 'Windows Blinds' etc? No, just the plain XP in Windows Classic. And wouldn't such a program affect all applications, not just PopTray? Anyway, ...

Aren't those image placements being controlled by your monitor settings? Generally, yes. But that wouldn't explain why there's still a border around PopTray. The existence of that border rather indicates a PopTray window handling problem, I think. By using CENTERING and VERTICAL/HORIZONTAL Placemen...

Thanks, maybe Renier could say something about this? Somehow PopTray behaves in a different way how it handles windows. For example, when you maximize a window, usually the borders disappear and the whole window is visible. Like this (this is the upper right corner of my maximized Firefox-Browser): ...

Thanks for the ideas but unfortunately it doesn't help :(
As I wrote, it does not depend on the number or width of the buttons. See the following screenshot for example). I deleted half of the buttons but still have the effect after restart:

Does nobody see the same effect? I upgraded to the newest beta but still see the same thing. I'm running 800x600 in case that matters. To clarify and to prove that I'm not a weirdo with an eye-disease  I made some screenshots: First window after the PopTray start: http://img59.exs.cx/img59/179...
