Re: PopTrayU leaves two messages in window

That is not a bug... that is being caused by how you are using the two programs. PoptrayU is not in constant contact with the email server, it only lists what I saw the last time it connected to your email server. So you caused the issue when you told PoptrayU to delete an email that you had removed...

Re: "Error: Message identifiers don't match. The Safe delete option prevented deletion of this message."

Be more specific... I don't recall anyone mentioning the error before and perhaps if you'd actually describe what you ( or the program ) was doing when that happened and if any other changes were made just before it happened, it may give a clue. I'd also suggest a computer restart just in case it wa...

Hmm, I don't want to accidently wrong e-mails!
Hmm... perhaps you should talk to your email provider.. it's outside the scope of a free program to make changes to their server and what they support or don't support.

Re: "Error: Message identifiers don't match. The Safe delete option prevented deletion of this message."

The server probably doesn't support it or possibly doesn't support it properly... you can disable the option under Advanced options Direct from the Help File... Whenever you want to delete a message, PopTray will use the POP3 UIDL command (if your server supports it) to get a unique identifier of th...

As far as I know, PoptrayU is the latest and only fork of Poptray.

Re: Anyone help me with translate? Ger to eng

Poptray as well as PoptrayU already has both German and English translations as well as many others. If you need to change what language that is used, go into Options->Defaults.

You are certainly welcome to continue being unorganized and using email in a manner it wasn't designed for... I was just passing on the information that I'd learned over the last 31 years I've been professionally working on computers.

Re: hotmail

I see I skimmed through your questions a little too fast and missed some of what you asked... oops. I also wanted to get back to the amount of emails you had with a little more info. First thing to remember, is PoptrayU is an email checker and not an email client program so it isn't a replacement fo...

Re: hotmail

The "slowness" is caused by having so many emails in your inbox... an inbox isn't made to store everything, it slows down your email programs and checkers ( like PoptrayU ) every time you open it. Organize your email into either other folders if you need to keep them... or delete the ones you don't ...

Re: OnMouseUp on mainWindow minimizes to tray

I see several issues that could be the underlying cause. Part of this I will explain ( ie the stuff for typical installs and running )... If you plan on using it in a portable setup, you are on your own but you will have to move it into and different folder for that to work. I'll try to explain it s...

Re: hotmail

Moved to a PoptrayU forum area... you'd posted this in a Poptray forum area and Poptray is no longer supported. But more on the subject at hand... The plugin you linked to is only for earlier versions of the unsupported program Poptray itself... not for use with PoptrayU. During PoptrayU's installat...

Re: OnMouseUp on mainWindow minimizes to tray

I have not heard or seen anyone reporting those issues... but you didn't give any specific info to base any suggestions on... What version of PoptrayU are you running? Where is your Poptray.ini located? Depending on what selections you made during installation, may provide a clue on the read-only is...

Re: The main window

That would depend on what version of Windows you are running and what options you selected when installing PoptrayU. Typically on a Windows 10 when you selected the default per user installation... the settings for that will be in the Poptray.ini file located at ??\UserData\Roaming\PoptrayU folder.....

Add or change your rules you make from within the program... not by editing the rules.ini file. What the values end up being, will be determined by what rules you end up making.

It isn't showing an avatar for you but if you had one... You'd select the drop down menu from your username on the upper right menu area, select profile, select edit profile and then select the avatar menu from the left... put a checkmark in the option to delete and click submit on the bottom of the...

Re: „Poptray Settings"

Try updating to the beta version ( 5.2.9 ) and see if that resolves it for you... It was actually released in 2018 and has addressed some of the issues of the previous versions but never released as a final version. Unfortunately, the author hasn't made any updates since, so if this is a bug due to ...
