Win Xp SP3

A week ago I have reinstalled XP & SP2 from scratch after a crash, and updated it fully. Two days ago Microsoft Update installed SP3. Since then, PopTray displays "Out of system resources" every so often, and the only way out is to reboot. The only way to avoid this is to exit PopTray. Any ideas abo...

authotisation failed

I changed my email provider, and Poptray all too often now comes up with "Authorisaion failed" connection error, even though when testing the accounts (in Accounts) the tests are OK. If I manually check the accounts, (Check all) there is no problem, and Poptray goes through the accounts without erro...

Caracter decoding

UTF-coded email subjects should be displayed decoded, otherwise there is a risk of deleting mail out of fear of spammers.

=?UTF-8?Q?Confirmation_d'inscription_=C3=A0_Net_Emploi_Service?=

should be displayed as

Confirmation d'inscription à Net Emploi Service

Hi, I have not got to the point of creating rules, and of all the files you listed, only PopTray.ini exists. Hence I am dubious that Backup/Uninstall Install/Restore will have any effect. What surprises me is the spurious path modification. Obviously PopTray uses the right path (C:\Program Files\Pop...

Hi Rdsok, NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation was initially set to 0, and that was the value when I first noticed the problem. The problem persists after the value was changed to 1 (with a reboot). The error message displays, in both cases: Cannot create file "C:\Program Files\PopTray\w'\PopTray.ini" the s...

Rdsok,

Thanks for your reply.

I have applied your suggestion, but cannot say if it works right away, since I dont know how to provoke the error. We will see over time.

I have not tried this, but my point is that PopTray seems to invent a new path from time to time to kill itself...
If the path it remembers did not change (I am using the defult installation) the problem would not arise.

Poptray.ini lost

Poptray 3.1 beta 4 just lost its path to the poptray.ini file, as reported already once. Upon closing Windows, Poptray displays "unable to access...." with a path containing rogue characters (eg: C:\Program files\Poptray\th'\Poptray.ini). The original Poptray.ini remains in the normal path (C:\Progr...

Thanks for your answer. Poptray now accesses poptray.ini and records the size. Maybe the problem I had was related to the access issue (strange path) I raised earlier.

Edit: I do use Win XP Home, updated.

3.10 Beta 4 loses settings

3.10 Beta 4 has a problem with its .ini file settings: After working for a while, it loses access to its .ini file, which is present in Program Files\PopTray. When trying to save options it issues a "Cannot create file" messages which do not seem to relate to the current installation. I have had the...
