Sorry, misunderstood your probem the first go around. Windows has associated Outlook with the .eml file type. So when PopTray creates a temp.eml file, Windows automatically opens Outlook. The Open button generates a file called "temp.eml" and runs that file. So it will open whatever email cli...

For some reason, your PC is not being connected at login. What could be causing that problem?

I would believe, that is the reason PopTray was 'freezing' you PC before.

It's simple to understand NILS.

Please just name your work something besides PopTray ______ .

That's all there is too it. Just use a different name other than continuing with PopTray version numbers.

Hi KY, Thanks. Your suggestion helped. But what I'm really trying to do is open Thunderbird in a repy window, with the sender's message quoted, by clicking 'reply' in the message list window. Right now, when I click reply, in the message list window, Thunderbird opens, but does NOT quote the sender...

You can change the setting in PopTray, OPTIONS, MISCELLANEOUS, MAPI INSTEAD OF MAILTO:.

If the box is NOT checked then CHECK it.

SAVE OPTIONS, QUIT PopTray and RESTART PopTray for changes to take effect.

This works with Thunderbird in XP Pro.

Glad you have it running using French, it should make PopTray easier for you to use. :)

When you install PopTray make sure to install the language files in the installer. I believe they are installed by default. In PopTray on the OPTIONS Tab, DEFAULT... in the third box from the top is LANGUAGE... click in the box and scroll down to and select FRENCH... SAVE OPTIONS, QUIT PopTray and R...

What else are you using to access the email account? Outlook (Express) or Thunderbird? You should be able to use the same settings in those programs in PopTray. Are you trying to access a POP3 account? Do you have the correct email server entered in PopTray's ACCOUNT SETTINGs? What is the name of th...

Thanks RDSOK, I can't understand why Nils was so insistent on naming his work PopTray 3.3. I tried to not discourage his work, but I felt the naming was confusing to others that might visit the forum and without Renier's consent, should not continue. Evidently Nils has removed his posts and his link...

Nils (c153110.adsl.hansenet.de), You are allowed to publish derivatives of the PopTray source code but you can't use the name unless Renier has given his permission. Please don't label your version as PopTray 3.3. It is not a continuation of PopTray's developer work, as such it shouldn't be posted o...

PopTray does NOT mark emails as READ.

When you click the tab of your HOTMAIL Account, that is considered as VIEWED by PopTray.

PopTray doesn't mark anything as VIEWED until you click off the HOTMAIL Account Tab to another Account TAb or PREVIEW a message in PopTray.

No, there is NOT an automatic way to add sent email addresses to the WHITELIST in either program.

Neither program monitors what is being sent out.
