I am using an AMD 3500+ with XP, so that is not the problem with the plugins.

Have you checked the size of the file? Maybe it didn't download correctly. Try re-downloading. Other than that, I don't know what the problem could be.

It might be related to the .customize file, or something similar.

Wow that's great.

Thanks for the mailing offer. Even just a scan of the relevant pages will be nice.

Nope sorry, PopTray always downloads the headers. It can't just notify the number of emails.

I don't have a Win98 to test with. But Win98 sure has much more limited resources, so that could be causing it.

Strange that PopTray 3.1 works better. I don't see much that changed that could affect it.

Older versions of PopTray are available on the SourceForge page.

You'd have to restart PopTray.

So you are getting this error even when there are only a few messages in the main account? The best I can find on the web seems to be that this error happens in problems with threads (which PopTray doesn't currently use), or when the canvas (possibly in this case the listview which shows the message...

HarpGuy, do you also have many emails in your mailbox like the other people in this thread mentioned?

Maybe it's possible with a clever regexp on the header, but that is beyond my regexp skills.

I guess you could use the whitelist in PopTray too.

If you are willing to share the source too, I can put it up on the plugins page in the place of the old PackRat. Just add your own name to the comments in the source, maybe.

I'll fix that in the next version (by trimming whitespace from the white/black list)

I switched to Indy 10 on my internal PopTray 4.0 beta, but it hangs a lot. I still don't have a lot of faith in Indy 10, but we'll see.

This must have happened when I compiled PopTray with Delphi 2005 instead of Delphi 7.

The next version of PopTray will be compiled using Turbo Delphi. It seems the problem persists there as well.

(I use the classic style in Windows, that is why I never notice the problem).
