Tahtu, I'm not fully sure I understand your reasons for concern about releasing your modifications with or without Renier's express endorsement. it is my belief that Renier has made his intentions clear when he released Poptray under the GNU GPL license, which as you are probably aware is a license ...

Tahtu, even if Ranier has been too busy to review your changes and post them to the website, if you are willing, I would be most interested in obtaining a copy of your modified unicode support version from you for my personal use...it'd certainly be a lot less work than re-inventing the wheel and im...

Proposal on how to fix subject encoding problem

Apologies for double posting this...I didn't want it to get lost because it was buried in the comments to a post where Renier suggested the problem with subject encoding is in the indy components... Renier, I have taken a look at the source code for PopTray and the RFC spec on email headers, and I b...

Suggestion of start of how to implement this request

Renier, I have taken a look at the source code for PopTray and the RFC spec on email headers, and I believe the subject encoding problem is one that could easily be resolved without waiting for Indy components to do character set conversion. (I don't actually have a Delphi compiler set up to write a...

I'm pretty sure the issue you are having with gmail is a gmail problem, not a pop-tray problem. The problem comes down to that gmail's implemenation of POP does not honor the "leave mail on server" header request. When you download a message over pop you can usually set to either delete the message ...

Emails from Flickr display poorly in poptray.

flickr adds utf-8 tags to the subject and from to allow international characters. Poptray displays this poorly. Gmail, in contrast, has no problem displaying these messages readably. Can poptray be fixed to display these messages more readably such as gmail does? Headers from the email shows (in thi...

Thanks for that tip it was helpful at narrowing down the problem. It appears to be something with that specific wav file (the cashregister.wav file from AOL instant mesenger, which plays fine in windows media player). Other wav files work fine, so at least I have a working sound now, even if I don't...

New Mail sound doesn't work in Vista

I am using PopTray 3.2. I just got a new computer with Vista Premium pre-installed on it. For the most part, Pop-tray seems to work fine on vista. Some of the options tabs, seem to have some invisible labels though and buttons that only appear when you mouse over them (the Defaults page has no label...

Quoted-Printable emails display equals sign wrong

I've been having trouble with poptray not handling quoted-printable encoding properly. I get emails of "reply to post" notifications from LiveJournal.com, and they include HTML links to reply to the comment. However, I've been having problems that the links don't work from poptray. I raised the issu...
