Also here, PopTray stops responding. I have disabled my GMail account in PopTray because of this. I think it happens when PopTray cannot resolve the pop3 domain name in the first attempt.

Great!

I'm using http://www.free-av.com/ - ugly - but works like a dream and does not slow down the computer either. I trashed NAV for this.

22 degrees here but I guess the summer is over! :( The next six months I will be busy writing my thesis, I am online very often (even from work) but I more or less abandoned ICQ. I am now on MSN Messenger... but I connect to ICQ from time to time, to say hello to a few people, including our italian...

I have seen these bot postings on several websites. Most solved the problem by demanding registration to the site before the user can post. Damn those spammers!

These series of posts are exactly why we shouldn't get into political debates. No one really knows what they write about until you have lived in the country or 'walked a mile in their shoes'. We are ALL like 'mushrooms', kept in the dark and fed shit'. Man, I agree with you Dave. I avoid 'political...

I am right here, Bateman! I check the forum from time to time, and I have also had a little chit-chat with ilNebbioso now and then on ICQ! You are offline as always? :) Well, I am busy with life and less occupied with my computer. Summertime in Copenhagen and Denmark is very nice (and lasts for only...

Yep, this is really annoying. They should count as normal messages. This must make sombody nervous before clicking DEL SPAM?

WHO made the notifier.exe that was mentioned here once?

Hi there I have a file I downloaded from a link on this forum, "notifier.exe", a tiny program that displays a window with a custom message: notifier.exe "You have mail from your mother, quick, clean up your room!" I searched the forum, but found nothing. Was it ever updated? Files like this one shou...

It should count as a normal mail, the only special thing about it is that you skip the notification when it arrives.

Message count

Why does ignored messages (rule) count as spam? I just ignore them because they are boring newsletters, not worthy of my attention before I check the account manually.

K9 still eliminates 99% of all spam I get... and I kill it with one rule... one rule to rule them all!

A Bayesian plugin would be great, but I wouldnt use it. K9 is simply awesome.

Actually Linux is a geek Os. that's just your opinion ... And, most of latest and famous distros are shareware with a trial period. Where is finished the "free is better" system? and that is not even true ; most popular distros (Mandrake, Red Hat, Suse, Slackware, Debian) have a download edition th...

I think Linux has much promise, but it will never be used by the mainstream population until most Linux veterans change their poor attitudes toward Linux newbies and OS user-friendliness. In my experience, the majority of Linux users continue to feel superior to non-Linux users and make them feel s...

This is a job for an e-mail client if you ask me. If it is an HTML e-mail it must be filtered before printing etc. Take a look at Calypso 3.30, a fine e-mail client that still can be downloaded for free. Calopsy comes with an impressive set of filters (rules) and it can print messages using these fi...

PopTray's forum is usually non-political... ...We have been and I think most would like to remain a non-political community of users that aren't bound by national borders and prejudices. I'm not the owner of this forum, and don't claim to speak for him, but I like it better without the political op...
