Interesting discussion.

In a way i must agree with the people who think the fineorder posting is spam, especially since this is a commercial product (nearly 50 USD a year for the service). But on the other hand the fineorder-guy had the decency to post this in the proper place. This forum is called *anything* and no restri...

In addition to geekboy's promo-talk i would like to mention my posting in topic http://forum.crause.co.za/viewtopic.php?t=271

It is about Foxmails capability of checking hotmail accounts. This feature is implemented in a really charming way.

This has been mentioned before, but there was not given a solution for this.

I thought is was something that happens only on my system, but now there are at least two of us.

Hi cska,

I too have an account at myrealbox. The only problem i have with it is that poptray with every check detects new mail, even when it is already detected in a previous check.
Do you recognise this?

(btw, is your nick name realated to cska sofia?)

I need three points....

It's highly configurable
It's light (no stupid resource consuming options)
It's extremely well supported

Yes !! The configurable timeouts are in sight :)

BTW, i don't have any problems of this kind. I use a connection monitor that starts poptray when a dial-up connection is made and stops poptray when the connection is terminated.

Rules triggered on every mailcheck ?

Although i am using PT for quite some time now i never used the rules. But after being spammed since last week on one of my accounts i decided to try this feature. I created a rule on a specific domain in the senders address and checked the action *run exe*. It worked fine i found out :) . But it se...

What a shame !!!!!!

I think poptray deserves 5 cows at least:) Today i read the opionion of an other freeware author about ratings, i quote: "Technically incompetent reviewers tend to be "feature-junkies". For them, a skinnable memory freeing app. that requires several MBytes of memory to run is better than a simple ap...

You can acces hotmail accounts from your pop3 email client by using Pop3Hot or Web2Pop. Especially Web2Pop is working fine with my mailclient, unfortunately is does not function properly in combination with Poptray. Maybe Renier can look into this if he has more time and when more people are interes...

Good idea Bateman, did you let them install on their own? I tried myself being a poptray newbie and performed a fresh install. (not easy when you are beta user having your 12th beta already) I could imagine that a new user on mailcheckers needs a little more help to get things working. Maybe an extr...

I do not think the current timeout behaviour justifies a major rewrite. Not only because the amount of work but also the fact that it probably will lead to extra resource consumption. IMHO the small problems on this subject can be solved with a manual disconnect feature, together with a configurable...

Ok Voodoo, you'r right, it is not absolutely necessary. But the reason i mentioned it is the fact that i am checking 12 pop accounts, a couple of them through the same ISP. So if the ISP has a problem it will effect multiple accounts, and poptray thus spends a lot of time waiting. Under normal circu...

I joined poptray a couple of months ago and only know it in beta. But all beta version seemed pretty stable to me, at least i did not get any *special features* betas usually have. So indeed i think it is worthy to relase it officially right now. BTW Renier, the only time poptray confuses me is the ...

doubleclicking poptray icon

Renier, sorry for my slow response but i have been away for a week.
I am using Pocomail (my system is W98 SE NL)

I reinstalled beta 12 and the thing did NOT happen, so i think there is a slight difference between these two versions.

doubleclicking poptray icon opens two instances of my mailclient

I never noticed this before, so i assume this is an unexpected feature of beta13 :)
