Thx Vitoco for mentioning the PT logviewer :) This is a more or less private application that KY Dave and i use. If changing the rules.log format is benificial to all poptray users i would not mind to do some recoding. In its current form all info between the tabs is filtered out, so replacing the t...

Find and replace on bitmap colors

For skinning purposes (my email client) i need to edit a lot of bmp files in which icons/buttons are kept.
The normal editing tools i use are not capable of find/replce on colors in a bmp file.
Anyone on this forum who has a suggestion for a simple tool that can do this?

Some months ago i started to mention my email address in the translation file. This was to save Reniers precious time so he did not have to answer emails about a translation he did not make. (Although he can read dutch since this is the origin of the afrikaans language) But in al those months i neve...

The lightstar patch indeed makes is possible to use the widely available themes for xp.
I found a small one *silver blue* that has a blue startbutton and some minor changes to the standard silver theme.
But why oh why the made it so difficult at MS ?

@ bateman what is your definition of tweaking? After running this patch once it seems that you're able to use the skin you otherwise would need the monsterous stylexp for. So the new challenge that is waiting for me is to find a light weight skin/theme that has minor changes compared to the standard...

Thx pierre for your suggestions. Although i googled i did not find the lightstar link, i am going to try this one.

About stylexp.
I tried the program but it is far to complicated. Instead of going to be a skin-aholic i only want to change the startbutton color.

Getting rid of the windows startbutton

As posted in the "forum update" topic i switched over recently to the xp silver user interface. It gives the desktop a pretty neutral look, so i think i keep it this way. But the ugly green startbutton...... Some research on the web shows that it is (almost) impossible to change it without hacking x...

Yesterday evening (late) i decided that i should finally switch over to an xp UI. For more than a year i used the classic option of xp and had it look just my old Win 95 or Win 98. The screenshots on the poptray site that renier showed there last week convinced me. I never knew it was possible to ha...

Vitoco Thx for putting the parsed files online. More quotes

At the very moment this topic started i posted a beautiful quote in the *general* section of this forum. On the search for the subject i encountered a quote page about this special kind of summer. Obviously it gives a lot of poetic inspiration. Besides the alreay mentioned ones you find more on: htt...

Bruno, Would you be so kind to post the obsolete lines you find in the language file? It will save a lot of time for people without the privilege of an indian summmer :) An early American writer described Indian Summer well when he wrote, "The air is perfectly quiescent and all is stillness, as if N...

Hi Antoine. At first i did not understand your posting. Because in dutch, english and german i was sure the form for *zero* is plural. Now i know why this problem rang a bell with me :)

I tried the suggested solution.
Apart form view, delete and check i removed all standard buttons and dragged other ones on the bar.
Now i have 4 buttons and 2 separators, and all is ok. But when adding a 5th button the problem reoccurs.

A small one about the PT message window

When i open PT for the first time the message window appears with a large amount of (grey) space under the buttons.
After clicking once on an other account tab the space disappears and the button are just above the white message area.
Anyone who recognizes this ?
