There isn't currently a plugin to directly support the Exchange protocol. Having said that, you can request that the admin for the Exchange server set it up to support the POP protocol as well as others to enable you to use PopTray with it. For more information, try using the Forums Search function ...

I will get the two messages that I have and see if I can recreate the error using my account on the Linux box at work. If I'm successful in recreating the errors, I'll either create an account for you to test with, if you wish, or send you copies of the 2 messages and tell you the steps I took to re...

Renier makes a good point about the chances that the advertisers are likely to simply 'work around' the issue of our blocking pop-ups with other methods. I would like to think that they would just drop the idea and use less obtusive methods for their advertising but I think that may be a naive idea....

I think the site looks nice. I also didn't care for the color that much but that is such a personal preference item I wouldn't mention it in particular. (Though I guess I just did  ). I would say though, that it should have more colors than just the 2 chosen, ie background foreground, to make ...

anagoge, I understand you may simply be naive about the nature of the various ways that the internet has been used to exploit (pun intended) its users but ComputerBob gave you very some good and valid reasons that someone should be wary of your posting. If you're still not convinced, I would suggest...

Correction: This does exist in v3.1 beta 4. I had recieved an email in the time it took to apply the update to v3.1 b5. After I got home from work, the error happened on my beta 4 version also. Renier, if you need another email that causes the access violation error, I can attach (not embed so head...

[v3.1 beta 5] Access violation error during during check

With the new v3.1 beta 5 release, I'm receiving an error when it checks for mail. Error is as follows
Access violation at address 004AA911 in module 'PopTray.exe'. Read of address 00000000
This didn't exist in the v3.1 beta 4 release.

I just tried the alpha version you posted on SourceForge and I believe the problem I'm having with it was discussed in this post concerning folders http://forum.poptray.org/viewtopic.php?t=1264&highlight=imap but I'm unsure if you ever resolved the issue since that time. If you haven't addressed thi...

Roman, To answer your question about 'atf-8' , Yes that is correct and it was not an error. I tested against over 4400 spam emails and actually found that exact string in well over 10% of them. The only drawback is that spammers will change tactics eventually and you will probably find fewer and few...

I tend to agree with you, but I guess it's my type-a personality that makes me go to the Nth degree with the details. :)

I suppose the only consolation is that you won't have other 8.3 filename caused errors later.

That is a good point to filter also for the 'pt' values. I've used them so rarely that I'd forgotten about them. I'll also lookup and try to catch the very rarely used 'em' value. I would like to point out that just filtering on 'font-size:' only catches the CSS style of font sizing where as 'font[^...

Hello again raananb, I only had thought there would be a small chance that the 8.3 filename issue was causing your problem. There is still a (very small) chance your problem is still caused by this unless you also uninstalled and removed the Poptray working directory. You stated that you just reboot...

This is a known error with the IMAP pluggin. If you use the forum's search function at the top and search on the term IMAP. You can read more about it. I believe at least 2 different pluggin programmers are attempting to resolve the problem.

Re: Work around

But as I said, the problem is NOT the empty subject line. It is the email itself. Poptray will only filter messages that it downloads entirely (right?). So even an addition of the word SPAM in het subject will not make it delete the message because it isn't capable of downloading the message at all...

raananb While the chances this setting causing your problem, it is certainly possible. Like I mentioned before, usually this problem only happens when 16 bit and older code exists for backward compatibility reasons. Usually when I've seen a problem with this the programs error message is similar to ...

CB I completely agree with you that is the worst thing to suggest, reformating a drive is only used as a last resort. I was actually shocked and didn't know what to say when I read that.
