Re: Quick preview .docx files

No... in fact I'm surprised you can view .doc files but that may be because your system may already have a wordprocessor program that supports .doc and not .docx .... Both file types are unrelated to email, they are workprocessor files, so you need to open them with a wordprocessor such as MS Word o...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

As I've said before a few times, and I will not repeat again... I don't use the balloon pop-ups and have no interest in them. Others have mentioned they didn't work for them and that is all I can say about that. I have a mix of POP3 and IMAP... but that is irrelevant. I have nothing more to say on a...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

As I mentioned I'm not messing with the balloon notification... there is nothing I can do there to help how PoptrayU behaves... I can mention that when using the IMAP option... the email will remain bold until the email has been read... it doesn't matter if you read it in PoptrayU or some other emai...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

If you are setup using POP3 settings... the message should be bold until you've opened the account window. It has nothing to do with if you opened the message or not. If it's setup using IMAP settings, then it shows as read ( not bold ) after you have opened the message. I'm not changing my settings...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

Oh a suggestion for testing... You said the balloon showed the first few times and not on the final one... If so set the number of seconds on the Deluxe balloon option for 0 ( zero ) seconds. This means the balloon will never go away on it's own and you'd have to click to get rid of it. This is only...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

I don't have an answer for that one... I hate balloon pop-up so I keep that disabled and it was mentioned by another user ( or you under a different user account). I may suggest trying the beta version ( linked on the main homepage I gave you earlier under the download options ) which is 5.2.9 and s...

Re: POPTrayU 5.2.6. Want Pop UP ?

Ok... 1st ( the easy one )... POP3 doesn't support having a read/unread setting... IMAP does. So Poptray and PoptrayU have a slightly different meaning for read/unread in regards to a POP3 account. Poptray 3.x was only made to support up to Windows XP which had much looser security settings. Poptray...

Re: How can I make backup e.g. all my accounts?

Your lack of experience with how Windows and Poptray works under the hood is the only reason you aren't seeing a difference... you are just looking at the surface. For just one example, programs were suppose to stop writing in protected folder areas and start using the UserData Local, Locallow and R...

Re: How can I make backup e.g. all my accounts?

Thanks for the info but that still doesn't make Poptray compatible with Windows 10 which is still the main issue and I'd strongly recommend anyone else to use PoptrayU which has been updated to work with Windows 10. Again, I still want to thank you for the info just in case others may need the info.

Re: How can I make backup e.g. all my accounts?

Poptray is no longer supported, especially on an OS that it was never made for... Windows may be placing some of the files in other areas in an attempt to get it to work without sacrificing security but I'm not certain and I'm not setting up a test bed just to test an unsupported setup... you are on...

Re: How can I make backup e.g. all my accounts?

If you are still using Poptray ( which is the area you are posting in, so that is what I will assume... ) ... you can follow the instructions here https://forum.poptray.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2942 If you are using PoptrayU... you make backup copies of the same files but they would be located in the...

Re: I open PopTray from taskbar but its not maximalized - Why?

In Windows... a windowed program never automatically expands to a certain size normally, it opens to it's last size that it was set for by the user or the default windowed size if the user never changed it. This is as it is designed to operate and therefore is not a problem simply because it isn't a...

Re: I open PopTray from taskbar but its not maximalized - Why?

Ok... If I'm now understanding what you mean... You are saying the window isn't wide enough to show each of the email accounts that you've added. This isn't a bug, it is how a program's window works... it is re sizable but it doesn't automatically do it. Move your mouse cursor over the right edge of...

Re: I open PopTray from taskbar but its not maximalized - Why?

If it is the latest... it's name is PoptrayU .... you can't use the wrong name for things and expect others to just know what you are talking about... I'm also thinking the terms you are using for maximized and minimized are incorrect but I can't be certain. So just in case, I'll define each since i...

Re: I open PopTray from taskbar but its not maximalized - Why?

Unless your Windows itself is the problem... it's unlikely that you will have issues once you've installed and setup PoptrayU. After Windows XP, Microsoft started making big changes in the attempt to improve security on the system. The main two changes were the allowed locations that programs could ...

Re: I open PopTray from taskbar but its not maximalized - Why?

Get PoptrayU here http://poptrayu.sourceforge.net/

We don't provide support for or even guess's as to how or why a VERY old version of Poptray works or not on a version of Windows it was not even made for... it is discontinued and only provided for users that are using old hardware.
