Rule for To=From?

Post by rvdc2003 » Fri Jul 02, 2004 3:06 pm

What do I need to do to automatically delete any e-mail where the sending e-mail address is identical to the receiving e-mail address? Every now and then I receive spam where the From address has been forged to match the To address. I created the following rule:

[Rule17]
Name=To is From
Enabled=1
New=0
Account=2
Operator=1
RowCount=2
Area=From [I tried 'From (address)', too]
Func=Contains
Text=me@world.org
Not=0
Wav=
Delete=1
Ignore=1
EXE=
Important=0
Spam=1
Protect=0
Log=1
TrayColor=-1
Area2=To
Func2=Contains
Text2=me@world.org
Not2=0

However, the e-mail is not deleted from the server automatically. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something here?

This is done becasue a lot of people have their own email addresses whitelisted.

Do you have the rule function MARK AS SPAM checked? PopTray can't MARK AS SPAM and DELETE FROM SERVER at the same time.

Make sure on the page for the rule, that the box for NEW MESSAGES ONLY is UNCHECKED. Click SAVE after the changes.

Also, when you try the rule use SHIFT and CLICK CHECK (SHIFT+CHECK) to make the rules fire.

Like you were suggesting, I had whitelisted my own e-mail addresses, which means there was a rule match, but since the e-mail address was whitelisted, nothing happened. Duh!

Thanks!
