Password recovery???

Post by Guest » Tue Dec 07, 2004 1:51 am

Hello. Is it possible (and how) to recover the password used in the Accounts POP mail section? Seems I'm locked out from my pop server, but am still able to receive (send) mail using PopTray. Somewhere there is a Silver linging, Mindblower!

I suggest using GOOGLE and search for 'PASSWORD RECOVERY PROGRAMS FREE'.

Some are capable of retrieving passwords from older Windows, but a different program maybe required to recover passwords from Win 2K and Win XP.

Most of them work by hovering your mouse over the field with the asteriks and it will show the password.

I would also suggest using a PASSWORD STORAGE program to avoid this situation in the future.
PASSWORD PROMPTER is a free program I use to store USER NAMES, PASSWORDS, HINTS, URLS and NOTES.

Corrected problem

Hello members. Was able to correct my password problem but not with any program. Spoke to my server rep, and had him correct the problem online. Even he had problems - so it makes me believe the problem was a glitch at their end. But I did mange to try out some nifty password sniffers. Thanks for the assist, Mindblower!

Asterisk logger really helps, when I had to retrieve password for my mail account, which I forgot. Thanks.
