Expressions to delete in the blank.ptlang file

I thought, till I read quosego's post below, that these two expressions:

  • Add Rule to Delete mail from Sender=[...]
  • Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender=[...]
[/color]

should be delete in the blank.ptlang file because they are not used anywhere.
  • It is useless for new translators to translate them.
  • For the other translators, they have (false) errors when they compare their "clean" file (using the great Vitoco tool :D ) with the blank.ptlang file.
Note: PopTray users do not have to delete those expressions; Renier should do in a next release.

Hmmm.... i just finished a translation for 3.2 beta2 today.
But i am pretty sure "Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender" is used. It is a buttontext when you customize the menu.

Here are the expressions that we have in the Personnalize Options (Buttons that can be added) :
  • Add Rule
  • Add Rule to delete Mail from Sender
  • Add Rule to mark messages from Sender as Spam
  • Add Rule to Delete mail with Subject
  • Add Rule to mark messages with Subject as Spam
Here are the expressions that we have in the pop-up menu in the account window :
  • Add Rule for mail from Sender
  • Add Rule for mail with Subject
For a total of 7

Here are the expressions related to Add rules in the blank.ptlang file (they are not in this order but I did put them in this order to make it easier to compare) :
  • Add Rule=
  • Add Rule to delete Mail from Sender=
  • Add Rule to mark messages from Sender as Spam=
  • Add Rule to Delete mail with Subject=
  • Add Rule to mark messages with Subject as Spam=
  • Add Rule for mail from Sender=
  • Add Rule for mail with Subject=
  • Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender=
For a total of 8

So, I think that Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender=
must be delete. If so, I am sorry to have indicated that there were two expressions to delete.

 please

I have translated the "Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender" into dutch, so when switching to english it is still present.
But when closing PT with the english language set and then restarting the program this action has disappeared.

So, in dutch, when you open the customize window, is there one expresssion not translated if you do not translate "Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender"?

I found out what is happening.
Both "Add Rule to Delete mail...." and "Add Rule to Delete all mail ..." have an identical dutch translation. When switching back to english the first english appearance in the list is used, in my case the line with "all" in it. If i delete this line the other one is used.

I ask you some work but to be sure that "Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender" can be delete, you should add it and translate it a bit different way than you translate "Add Rule to Delete mail from Sender". With a new checking of the customize window, it will easy to know what expression is useless, then candidate to be delete one day.

Thanks.

I made the test with the French (Canada) version. Conclusion:
"Add Rule to Delete all mail from Sender" is useless.

Renier, could you confirm, please, and, should it so befall, inform the whole world.

Yes, it seems the one with the "all" in it is redundant.
