Error message when closing

Post by wahisfun » Fri Jan 25, 2008 12:35 am

I am a new user of PopTray and think it is great. However, at times when I make changes or close the program, I get an error message that says PopTray cannot write to pop.ini. I installed the program using the administrator account in Windows XP Pro. I use the program as a limited account user. I don't seem to get the error while in the Administrator account. Is this just something I don't have set up correctly or what? Any help?

Login as ADMIN and change the SHORTCUT's PROPERTIES to one of the following lines...
"C:\Program Files\PopTray\PopTray.exe" "%USERPROFILE%"

"C:\Program Files\PopTray\PopTray.exe" "%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%"
This will cause PopTray to write it's PopTray.ini file in the USERS Home Directory.

It is explained more by clicking in PopTray, ABOUT, HELP, FAQ.

This does work for the Poptray.ini, Rules.ini and *.ptdat (W/B lists) files but not for the Preview.Customize.

So do not try to customise the preview window in a non admin account.
