Gmail messages reload when restarting

Post by mch » Wed Nov 05, 2008 3:58 pm

I use PopTray with Gmail & Yahoo. After rebooting, or restarting PopTray, all the Gmail messages are pulled down again & displayed as if I had not already seen them. This does NOT happen with my Yahoo account. Is this a known issue with Gmail or is there a setting I need to change?

Thanks -

It isn't an issue... it is how it works when email messages are found in the Inbox and after Poptray is restarted so it no longer knows which ones were displayed.... remember Poptray is a notifier.. not an email client.

But as I said - the behavior with Yahoo is different. Items in the inbox are not brought down & shown as "new" after a restart.

I'm sorry, to correct you, but PopTray.exe stores a list of shown messages.

If that's the case - why does it work properly with Yahoo but not with Gmail? Is there some setting I need to change?

I offered Renier to help him fixing bugs - but he is not interessed about my way or working - so I'm not interessed to debug this problem.

I seem to have stumbled across a pissing contest. Is there someone that can help with this issue?

Thanks,

Does anyone have a suggestion to deal with this?
