New format of notifying (msn style)

Post by Guest » Sun Feb 16, 2003 8:01 pm

It would be very nice thing if PopTray could notify with MSN - like style.

For example - if you have 3 messages - it tells you you have 3 messgaes ( similiar to now).

But in you have 1 new message it includes it's info, so if you work on something and you get new message - you can glance at it with corner of your eye and you'll know if that's important enough to check or not.

From: Subject: and top few lines would be enough.

I agree...

I could be a nice feature to add to PopTray!

Please check out the advanced info on PopTray 3.0 pre-beta 0.6. It's still a work in progress, but it is something similar to what you're looking for.

I'll be putting pre-beta 0.6 up as soon as I can connect to my Italy mirror (which doesn't wanna work at the moment).

It finally worked, and I uploaded it.

Where is the option?

Post by Fiendish1 » Fri Apr 18, 2003 11:36 pm

Hi Renier,

I downloaded pre-beta 7 and I can find no option that provides the popup window under advanced options.

Is it still being worked on as this is something I would love to see included.

Just an MSN-style window that pops up for 10 seconds or so. It would also be great if this popup window could include who the email is from and the subject.

What do you reckon?

I think you might be looking for the OPTIONS tab, ADVANCED OPTIONS, USER INTERFACE, check the box for ADVANCED SHOW INFO.

Also ON OPTIONS tab, GENERAL OPTIONS check box for INFO BALLOON ON NOTIFICATION.

It doesn't disappear after a time, you must click the box to make it go away.

The show info dialog is still a work in progress, and you will see a lot of changes in pre-beta 0.8. It now also closes after 20 seconds.

I'll have a look, but I quite like my current info window.
