Refreshing a Plug-in causes Hang

Post by jskinner » Sat Mar 12, 2005 9:29 pm

What exactly is the 'Refresh' option for on the Plug-ins page? Whenever I select it PopTray hangs and I have to kill it via Task Manager.

Thanks, -james

The refresh option unloads all plugins, rescans the directory for new dll's, shows them all and reloads the selected ones. Maybe there is a plugin that doesn't behave correctly and causing your hang.

Yep that appears to have been the problem. I removed all the Plug-ins that I wasn't using and the problems appears to have gone away.

Renier,

You forget that there is an error in PopTray 3.1
TframePlugins.Refresh forget to re-initialize the plug-ins.
see also: Plugins not Initialized - Access violation

Furthermore, TframePlugins.Refresh called all time when you reach the 'Plug-ins' pane on Options tab not only at clicking 'Refresh'.
