LED Flasher

Post by robomatic12 » Sun Dec 28, 2003 11:23 pm

I really like the keyboard flasher plug-in. Is there anyway I can hook up a LED (light) to a serial port and have it flash for new mail?

A screensaver communicating with PopTray would be useful?

Hmm....you've given me ideas......

I might look at getting the Uptime ScreenSaver to get info from PopTray.

Here is the wanted Plug-in. :D

It works almost like the Keyboard Lights plug-in. In a few days I'll publish the source too.

Code: Select all

   /      \   /|  /|
   | LED  |  /   /
   |  ____|
   ||\\   |
   || \\  |
   ||_| |_|
     |   |
     |   |

   ||_| |_|
     |   |
     |   |
     |   |

     |   |        Resistor
     |   |        ________
     |   |_______| 1 kOhm |_____(7)   Com Port
     |           |________|
     |                                DB 25
     |

If The LED ligths permanently, try to reverse 5 and 4 or 7 and 20 pins.
