It's inside a small bag at homequosego wrote:But what happened to little Victor's hair ?

Seriously, this is the second time that someone from Europe asked for it. The answer is simple: it's easier to keep him clean without the hair for the first month of his life... remember that he cannot be washed until the fall of the umbilical cord, and his skin is very greasy. At least, we are used to do that in this forgotten part of the world...

A big CONGRATULATIONS
You will now be considered part of society!
It seemed like people treated us different once we had a child (8-12-1979 and 11-3-1982).
Did you go into the delivery room?
From the picture of little Victor laying on your wife I guess so. I did and it made me think a little more about how tough it was for my wife to deliver our babies, so I was more willing to help out when we took our children home.
Once again, congratulations!

Very interesting Vitoco, these differences in handling newborn babies.
I was very much surprised to see a baby with a lot of hair on one picture and the same baby on another with no hair. Although i am not a specialist on babies, in my country it generally is appreciated that a newborn baby has a lot of hair. ( Oooooh look how much hair he/she already has !!!!)
From what i remember of the birth of our two sons they did have a bath within hours after they were born. And they liked it very much in warm water, probably because it did remind them to the environment of the previous 9 months.
In the Netherlands it is common practice to give birth to babies in your own home, at least when no complications are expected. (In this little country it usually takes less than 30 minutes to reach a hospital) My first son was born in a hospital because of minor complications. But to be honest this was the hardest day in my life, just sitting and watch your wife doing all the hard work.
