Verbindungsfehler: Syntax Error

Post by jnmayer » Sun Jan 08, 2006 1:32 am

Hi,

I have a problem using Poptray. When I try to check for new eMails from my T-Online account, most of the time I get "Verbindungsfehler: Syntax Error". Sometimes everything is alright. Is this a problem with Poptray or rather with the mailserver? How can it be solved?

I'm using Poptray 3.1 on Windows98SE and a modem dial-up connection (no DSL). This problem began only a few days ago. My other mail-accounts are checked without any erros.

Greetings, J. Mayer

I doubt it's PopTray as you say your other accounts are checked correctly.
There could be many reasons you received an error, such as...
server downtime, bad connections, too many connections per hour, etc...

My suggestions are...

in PopTray, OPTIONS TAB, ADVANCED OPTIONS, check the box for IGNORE CONNECTION ERRORS.
in PopTray, OPTIONS TAB, ADVANCED OPTIONS, check the box for IGNORE RETRIEVE ERRORS.

SAVE OPTIONS, QUIT PopTray, RESTART.

The suggested settings let PopTray ignore the problems and continue checking your accounts per your timer settings.
