The error means that Poptray can not connect to the email server. This can be caused by several things..
The number one cause is incorrect firewall settings. Poptray needs full internet access in your firewall.
Google email accounts also require that you enable POP3/IMAP access first before you can connect and they use SSL for the POP3 access. You must have downloaded the example plugins for Poptray and installed them for SSL access ( restart Poptray after installing plugins and enabling them ). The required settings and info for this can be seen here http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/s ... Id=2531110
Spam filters and Antivirus software must also be taken into account when setting up your connection but you must follow the instructions for the software you use when setting these up since each use different methods.
