For some reason since I started using Windows 7 on a laptop the log of rules has stopped working yet if you copy the pop tray folder from program files into an xp installation all starts to work again as normal any clues please?

The standard user accounts in Win7 don't have write access in the program files folder by default... either startup Poptray with the options mentioned in the help file to place the files into the user home directory, move the full Poptray folder into one of your user account directories or change the UAC settings to disabled.

Also remember that even an administrator account only runs as a standard user in Vista and Win7 both unless you right click the program and select run as administrator.
