With Popfile, Gmail messages cannot be downloaded
I used PopTrayU with Popfile. I have two pop accounts managed by Popfile, PoptrayU and my email client : one from my ISP and the other is a Gmail account using the Pop protocol.
PoptrayU is set such a way to retrieve the body while checking.
There is no problem with my pop account from my ISP. But, with the Gmail account using the Pop protocol, once the message has been downloaded to be filtered by PopFile, it is impossible in PopTrayU to preview this message as it is not possible to dowload the message with my email client even if, opening my Gmail account, I can see that the message is in the inbox.
When I try to preview the mail, I have this message: "Unable to retrieve message. Message out of range".
Il my Gmail account, I have a setting according to which the original message is kept in the inbox.
OS = Windows 10 x 64
Email client = Windows Live Mail
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks.

Hi homaquebec,
I don't have a solution since I don't use Popfile or any spam program... but I do have a test that you can use to isolate where the problem actually is at...
Setup a test account in PoptrayU or your email client ( PoptrayU would be the simpler setup ) that goes directly to your Gmail account without Popfile in the middle.... the account doesn't need to be enabled to autocheck since a manual check will work to tell you what you need to know.
If you are able to receive and preview the emails in the test account... the problem lies in Popfile or it's settings.
BTW additional info ... the latest PoptrayU version is 5.22... check that you are using the latest and also the latest version of Popfile as well

Hi Rdsok,
Thanks for your fast answer.
I already had made such a test. I did it once more.
Everything works fine if, in PopTrayU, I desable the option "Retrieve Body While Ckeck".
The probrem seem to be in Gmail that considers that when you download the message either to filter it or to preview it, it "desappears".
Do you have some recommandations about the way to set Gmail using Pop protocol?

Mine don't disappear when I preview the emails in PoptrayU and I don't have an issue with getting those emails in another email client once I've done that either... but as I mentioned I'm also not using Popfile...homaquebec wrote:Hi Rdsok,

Conclusion for this afternoon:
Looking at the settings in your Gmail account, I added "Enable IMAP".
So, if I want everything working well, in PopTrayU, I have to desable the option "Retrieve Body While Checking".
Doing so, messages are not filtered by Popfile but they can be previewed.
AND they CAN be dowloaded by my email client.
I will work this way till I find a better if there is one.
Thanks for everything.

I believe your GMAIL settings are OK.
I think all you need to do is add "recent:" to your login.
Below is what mine looks like in the PopTrayU login box. You might be using a different separator in PopFile where I use "/", as long as it is not the ":" you'll be OK.
LOGIN pop.gmail.com/995/recent:kydavid@gmail.com/ssl
SERVER 127.0.0.1
PROTOCOL Pop3
PORT 110
SSL/TLS not checked
