Translation files from b16 parsed

Post by vitoco » Thu Oct 09, 2003 9:44 pm

Please read my post at viewtopic.php?t=1140#5920 :!:

I parsed all the translation files from beta16 just to check which of them had messages without translation, and which ones have to be cleaned up.

Results available... Have fun. 8)

Thanks for the work. I'm sure it will be handy for all translators.

Tnanks, Vitoco!
This 32 untranslated messages in the Bulgarian translation are the language names itself  I think, it is a little bit annoying to switch by mistake to some unknown (cyrillic) language and to guess where was your langugage. :|
In the near 1-2 monts, I plan to make some changes to my "PopTray Language Editor" to include comments, to check for untranslated messages, to remove useless messages, so can I use your idea from ptlangmix.pl file?

Exactly for that reason I always keep English at the top and not sort it with the other languages. I see the Arabic translation keeps the language name in English after the Arabic word.

Then, you can translate them to themselves, just to pass the test.

Sure. Here you have my written permission.

BTW, I made some small changes to make a little more readable the output, but the kernel remains the same. Then, please download v0.2.

PT Language Editor

Some of them are:
- Language name in windows title
- No "Original text" area
- Multi-line text editing in grid, with implicit tilde (~) convertion
- Status column, with Old, New and Comment items
- Insert and delete rows buttons
- Delete all Old sentences button
- Button to copy original text into it's translation area, useful for comments and language names
- Preserve heading comments from language file
- Append comments from new blank.ptlang file
- Rows sorting by clicking on column headers
- A reload option to refresh sentences status (reloads both .ptlang files)

See my simulation picture.

Thanks again!

Changes to the Afrikaans translation

Post by leuce » Wed Apr 13, 2005 4:09 pm

G'day Renier

Man, you even look like a boertjie (no offence intended). Your Afrikaans translation has a couple of spelling issues (most notably los-en-vasskryf issues, and a couple of untranslated words).

Should I (a) submit a completely new translation, (b) submit a corrected version of your translation, or (c) just push off? :-)

You are welcome to improve my translation. I don't use it myself (computers in Afrikaans doesn't work too well), so I don't notice the errors.
