I followed the instructions thoroughly in your thread about FreePOPs but I received a "NETWORK ERROR" message when testing the Hotmail account. I enabled port 2000 (TCP and UDP) in the Windows XP firewall. Have I missed something?
I checked the FreePOPs log file:
Sun Dec 17 21:05:31 2006 freepopsd: ERROR(log_lua.c, 70): (@lua/hotmail.lua, 345) : Login Failed: Unable to make connection
Thanks for any help.

After downloading and installing FreePOPs, you must update the LUAs.
EXIT FreePOPs, then download the latest LUAs...
You can download the latest hotmail.lua at the link below...
http://www.freepops.org/download.php?file=hotmail.lua
While you are at it, update the updater.lua also at the link below...
http://www.freepops.org/download.php?file=updater.lua
SAVE the LUAs and then COPY and PASTE the LUAs to the FreePOPs\LUA Directory overwritting the old LUAs.
RESTART FreePOPs and check your email.
If the HOTMAIL Account works, then setup a new account and use the following CRITERIA...
USERNAME/LOGIN = x@updater
PASSWORD = x
PORT = 2000
SERVER = 127.0.0.1
This account will update FreePOPs LUAs automatically everytime you check it. Set it to MANUAL and only check at most once a day, usually once a week is enough, or even only when you have problems.
If you still have problems with HOTMAIL, PLEASE check at the FreePOPs Forum at the url below for further help or advice...

Re: Problem with FreePOPS and Hotmail
Your last post was in a thread about emails being deleted which as I mentioned wasn't going to be a Poptray/PoptrayU issue unless you'd made a rule to automatically delete an email ( neither do that automatically unless you'd made a rule )... This thread is about a completely different subject, it's about using a 3rd party program ( FreePops which we don't provide support for ) with Hotmail.Warnerrooms wrote: ↑Mon Jan 14, 2019 9:21 pmI was too quick to declare victory - it worked fine for a day and now the problem re-appeared again with page cannot be displayed message.
If you are having a problem with Poptray/PoptrayU, then start your own thread instead of posting in someone elses thread and trying to hijack it. You should also post all info about how you are setting things up ( don't include username or passwords though ) otherwise we won't be able to make suggestions that fit your situation.
